2021 Independence Day, better known as the 4th of July, will officially be held on Monday, the 5th of July. And our nationally renowned Kaboom Town, mega-fireworks display in Addison is on Saturday, the 3rd of July. WHAT! A 3-day celebration calls for the best food and drink in Richardson from Good Union Urban BBQ!!

Nothing better than a 3-day holiday weekend with fireworks every night. It’s a great time to pick up some of the best BBQ at CityLine and head out for a picnic or an evening under the stars waiting for the sky to light up.

Kaboom Town tickets sold out in less than 2 hours. Luckily, with Good Union close by, that leaves you with some great opportunities to enjoy time with friends, excellent Pulled Pork and Slaw Stackers or Burnt Ends, and a fantastic bar with the best bartenders!

Kaboom Town Fireworks are available for Livestream on the City of Addison’s YouTube channel. Bring friends and join us on the 3rd for dinner, stay through the grand finale.

What is a “Waterfall” firework display? Close your eyes and use your imagination! A hand full of glittering lights thrown high into the sky shooting out in every direction, arching, and then slowly and dramatically free falling back to earth as their long tails twinkle and fade. OOHHHH…

Waterfall Cocktail – A special recipe to savor while you watch the show.

1 ½ oz. Raspberry Vodka

8 oz. Red Bull

1 oz. Blue Curacao

Pour Red Bull into a shot pint and fill a shot glass with Raspberry Vodka. Drop the shot glass into the Red Bull and drizzle Blue Curacao over. Or, top the Vodka shot with Blue Curacao and then drop it into the Red Bull. Toast to life!

A “Cake” Firework display is just like a homemade layer cake, made of many parts. A single fuse lights a series of tubes harboring a variety of displays which set off intricate and spectacular light shows across the sky. Often used in grand finales and very popular with the crowd. AAHHHH!!

Birthday Cake Martini – What could be more fitting!

2 oz. Vodka

3 oz. Coconut Cream

1 oz. White Chocolate liqueur

1 oz. Amaretto

Ice

 For Martini Glass rims:

2 tablespoons Honey and Colored Round Sprinkles

Using 1 shallow plate for the honey and another for the festive sprinkles, dip a martini glass rim into the honey and then coat with sprinkles. Set aside. In a cocktail shaker, combine all other ingredients with the ice and shake very well. Pour and enjoy!
